Our Mission Statement

"GOOD DOGS START WITH GOOD OWNERS"

It is the mission of Atlanta Pet Partner to provide registered Pet Partners® teams at no-cost to hospitals, assisted-living facilities, hospice, physical and occupational therapy centers, schools, libraries, certified therapist-rehab programs, mental health programs, physiologist, retirement homes, community health centers, rehab programs, catastrophic community events and crimes, disaster relief and bereavement services to bring peace and hope, joy, comfort, education and inspiration to those in need.

We serve patients and families that are going through age and/or mental health or health related crisis. Through our pets unconditional love and acceptance, they bring smiles to adults and children's faces.

They bring affection to lonely people in nursing homes, and in some cases, the will to re-engage in life and interact with those around them and the world beyound

We are proud to be an affiliate group of Pet Partners® and to represent Pet Partners®, (a non-profit organization) the leading authority in Animal Assisted Activity and Animal Assisted Therapy development.
Pet Partners® programs test and register all of Atlanta Pet Partners teams and qualify them to serve those in need.

What We Do

Atlanta Pet Partners® provides their Pet Partner® registered pets at no cost to hospitals, assisted living facilities, hospice homes, physical and occupational therapy Rehab centers, elementary schools, libraries, certified Therapist-Rehab programs, Mental Health programs, Physiologist, Retirement Homes, Community Health Centers, Rehab Programs and many other places to bring joy, comfort, education and inspiration.

Animal Assisted Activity volunteers provide informal animal contact opportunities for:

Assisted Living Facilities
Certified Therapist-Rehab
Hospice Facilities
Mental Health Physiologist
Retirement Homes
Community Health Centers

Animal Assisted Therapy volunteers become formally involved in patient regimens under the guidance of a health care professional for:

Hospitals / Clinical Therapy Wards
Assisted Living Facilities
Certified Therapist-Rehab Centers
Critical Care Units
Hospice Facilities
Altruistic Learning Facilities
Mental Health Physiologist
Retirement Homes
Community Health Centers

Elementary/Day Care Animal Education Classes provide 30-minute educational classes to young students on the “How to’s in the dog world," "How to approach a unfamiliar dog," "How to read a dog," and "Understanding the myths vs truths about dogs," and much more…

All three types of animal interactions can help lower blood pressure, reduce stress and anxiety, temporarily reduce pain, motivate patients in physical therapy, help students re-engage and read better and inspire children to learn and so much more.
